USPS               has               come               a               long               way               in               technology               in               recent               years.

As               the               world               has               become               more               connected               through               the               Internet,               the               postal               service               has               found               ways               to               integrate               Web-based               technology               into               its               business               model.

One               of               the               most               amazing               features               is               the               SCAN               form.

SCAN,               which               stands               for               Shipment               Confirmation               Acceptance               Notice,               is               a               kind               of               form               that               allows               postal               employees               to               check               in               a               large               amount               of               packages               at               once.

Companies               who               buy               postage               online               can               use               this               technology               to               mail               lots               of               parcels               without               having               to               wait               for               a               USPS               employee               to               scan               each               one.

Although               SCAN               Forms               were               created               in               2006,               they               are               not               widely               used               despite               being               helpful               for               small               business               owners               and               others               who               have               a               large               amount               of               packages               to               mail.
In               order               to               use               a               SCAN               form,               you               have               to               buy               Delivery               Confirmation               or               Signature               Confirmation               for               each               item               and               have               no               more               than               50               items               per               one               SCAN               form.

Once               you               print               package               postage               from               USPS,               click               on               the               link               to               print               the               SCAN               Form.

The               form               is               one               page               and               has               a               bar               code               on               it.

Once               you               have               done               this,               USPS's               Web               site               will               send               information               to               USPS               about               your               packages.
Once               you               have               your               form,               you               will               need               to               take               your               packages               to               your               local               post               office               or               request               that               a               USPS               employee               pick               up               the               parcels               from               your               home               or               office               on               the               same               day               and               in               the               same               ZIP               code               where               you               printed               your               postage.

Once               the               postman               scans               the               bar               codes               into               USPS's               system,               they               will               appear               as               "accepted."               You               and               your               packages'               recipients               will               be               able               to               start               tracking               the               parcels               as               they               work               their               way               through               USPS's               system               by               checking               the               associated               tracking               number               on               USPS's               Track               &               Confirm               website.

Be               sure               to               keep               this,               as               you               will               want               it               for               your               business               records               and               just               in               case               something               goes               wrong               with               your               shipment.

If               you               misplace               your               SCAN               Form,               you               can               generate               a               new               one               by               going               to               USPS's               website.
